SWING ROSIE includes the talents of Kira Callahan, Shannon Butcher and Chantelle Wilson, who all come from different backgrounds in music and entertainment. Founder Kira Callahan has performed on stages from Toronto to Paris and her CD Kira Callahan Live at Glenn Gould Studio can be heard on CBC Radio, Jazz FM 91.1 and CIUT 89.5. Shannon Butcher is a graduate from the University of Toronto's Music Faculty, whose youthful and energetic persona, along with her versatile soprano voice add a beautiful element to SWING ROSIE’s playful and intricate harmonies. Chantelle Wilson has performed around the world singing, dancing and acting in productions both on screen and on stage. Together they make up the hot sassy trio that is SWING ROSIE!
SWING ROSIE graced the stage at the 2004 Toronto Summer Street Festival to a 1000 strong standing ovation and has made Sundays at the REX Hotel Jazz and Blues Club the club’s busiest night in history. Other venues SWING ROSIE has performed at include; the Carlu, the Montreal Bistro, the Reservoir Lounge, the Eglinton Grand and the Gladstone Hotel along with various local and national jazz festivals.
By overwhelming demand, SWING ROSIE will release their debut CD - Sing Cool, Swing Hot - which includes famous swing hits like Bei Mir Bist Du Shoen, provocative numbers like St. Louis Blues and their original hits Swing Rosie and Suzie Kazoo.
