On November 11th, Remembrance Day, multi-instrumentalist virtuoso and Canadian jazz icon, Don Thompson, performs an exclusive concert for the JAZZ.FM91 Sound of Jazz Concert Series. Performing compositions of some of the greatest love songs ever written - "Make Love Not War". Featuring Michael Stuart, Reg Schwager, Neil Swainson, Terry Clarke and vocalist Diana Panton.
Then on Monday November 25th, Joey DeFrancesco, one of the finest organ players on the planet, will share the stage with the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band! DeFrancesco signed his first exclusive recording contract with Columbia Records at just 16 years old. He catapulted his career at the same age as the majority of JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band players. Kurt Elling has a show at The Rose Theatre in Brampton on November 14th and the following night will appear at The Sean O'Sullivan Theatre in St. Catharines, following a very special opening act: The John Sherwood Trio featuring Rob McBride on bass, Guido Basso on flugelhorn and John Sherwood on piano. Sherwood's brilliant debut CD was recorded live in this theatre!
Kurt Elling is one of the greatest singers in jazz today; with Grammy nods for every one of his ten albums and his latest project celebrates the timeless songs of the Brill Building written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Sam Cooke, Carole King and Paul Simon.

Alex will be joined by special guests: Terra Hazelton, Roger Clown and Drew Jurecka. They'll play seasonal songs as well as traditional jazz, tin pan alley classics and songs from the Great American Songbook. Jaymz Bee is MC and DJ in between sets. Light food will be available for purchase and of course the Palais Royale is fully licensed. Free parking! There are limited tables of ten available – bring your colleagues, friends and family... or make it a date night. If you prefer, fly solo and meet the friendly swing dancers on the floor!
